Description
Polk County is seeking a company to support its jail food program through access to a food purchasing network, fixed pricing for commonly ordered food items, ordering software, and related purchasing support. The provider must supply annual food-cost and per-meal estimates, provide invoices for products purchased through its network, and support the County's existing on-site kitchen rather than assume responsibility for meal preparation or delivery. The scope also includes food-service consulting, menu management, registered dietitian support, training, audits, written food-service and emergency-contingency plans, and development of regular and special-diet menus. The provider must submit a four-week sample cycle menu, menu descriptions with weights or volumes and nutritional information, and a contingency plan supporting at least five days of meals for inmates and staff. The resulting agreement is for an initial three-year term with two possible one-year extensions. Insurance is required, including workers' compensation, commercial general liability, automobile liability, and applicable excess or umbrella coverage.
