Description
The City of Des Moines is seeking a contractor for recurring trash removal services in the Beaverdale, Roosevelt/42nd Street, and 6th Avenue commercial districts. The work covers 31 32-gallon trash containers: eight in Beaverdale collected twice weekly, two in Roosevelt collected twice weekly, and 21 in the 6th Avenue district collected at frequencies ranging from once every two weeks to three times per week. Beaverdale and Roosevelt service includes removing trash bags and replacing them with new bags supplied by the contractor; 6th Avenue service includes emptying liners and notifying the City when liners need replacement. Bidders must provide monthly charges for each district and per-collection pricing for additional pickups. The initial contract term is three years, with three optional one-year extensions. The selected contractor must comply with safety, regulatory, identification, property-protection, and insurance requirements, and must provide a designated contact and complete the required electronic bid responses and Insurance Carrier form.
