Description
Polk County Conservation Board is soliciting bids for a complete, fully automated snowmaking system for Sleepy Hollow Sports Park. The scope includes system design, snowmaking equipment, water distribution and pump-station equipment, electrical distribution, automated snow-gun controls, weather monitoring, communications infrastructure, centralized SCADA controls, software licenses, documentation, operator training, technical support, and construction-administration support. The system must cover approximately 13.7 acres across 10 ski trails, provide 100% trail coverage and an 18-inch design snow depth, and support required snow production by December 15. The contractor must coordinate with the proposed site and utility improvements, provide design calculations and technical submittals, and identify assumptions, exclusions, deviations, and additional requirements. Site excavation, trenching, grading, drainage improvements, utility installation, foundations, field installation, permitting, and certain startup labor are generally identified as work by others. A performance bond equal to 100% of the contract amount and insurance coverage are required upon award or before work begins, as specified in the solicitation.
