Description
The State of Iowa, through its Department of Health and Human Services, is soliciting proposals for the Civil Money Penalty Quality Improvement Initiative (CMPQII) Grant Program. This program aims to fund projects that protect or improve the quality of care and/or quality of life for residents in federally certified nursing facilities. Funds are derived from civil money penalties collected from nursing facilities and are awarded to qualified entities, including nursing facilities, advocacy organizations, educational institutions, and state agencies. Projects must align with the goals outlined in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) CMPRP Application Handbook and may focus on areas such as resident and family councils, consumer information, training to improve quality of care, activities to improve quality of life, mental and behavioral health, and workforce enhancement. All applications are subject to CMS approval.
