Description
The City of Independence is soliciting sealed bids for a farm lease covering approximately 59 acres of tillable land divided into four parcels adjacent to James H. Connell Field at the Independence Municipal Airport. Bidders must state a per-acre bid amount and identify the crop intended for the first lease year. The leased acreage must be maintained in an annual row-crop rotation and returned to a rotational cropping system; proposals for maintaining or establishing alfalfa will not be accepted. Bidders must use the provided bid form. The annual lease payment will be divided into two installments, with one-half due March 31 and the remaining half due December 31 of each year. The successful bidder must provide at least $2,000,000 in liability insurance naming the City of Independence as an additional insured.
