Description
The City of Indianola is requesting proposals from qualified certified public accounting firms for annual audits covering fiscal years ending June 30, 2027, through June 30, 2029, with annual renewal options for fiscal years 2030, 2031, and 2032. Services must comply with U.S. generally accepted auditing standards, Government Auditing Standards, applicable Single Audit Act and OMB requirements, Iowa Auditor of State reporting formats, AICPA guidance, and applicable Iowa law. The selected firm will perform audit fieldwork, prepare adjusting entries and final reports, provide a management letter when appropriate, complete standard and potentially single-audit fee proposals, file the final report with the Iowa Auditor of State, and present audit results to the City Council. Proposals must address firm qualifications, similar municipal audit experience, at least three Iowa municipal references from the past five years, key personnel resumes, quality control, project schedule, data-collection procedures, staffing, fees, and billing. The firm must complete on-site fieldwork within five working days unless mutually extended, provide ten bound final reports and one electronic PDF, and furnish a certificate of insurance if awarded.
