Description
The University of Iowa is soliciting written proposals from qualified suppliers to provide clinical documentation and quality review services for University of Iowa Health Care. The scope includes inpatient clinical documentation improvement, post-discharge documentation and coding analysis, DRG, HCC, RAF, procedure, medical-necessity, secondary-diagnosis, and quality-impact reviews, physician-led clinical validation, denial prevention and defense, compliant clarification processes, physician education, analytics, dashboards, case-level tracking, targeted dual-pass reviews, and performance reporting. Proposals must address the supplier’s experience and process, implementation plan, expected return on investment, fee structure, scope of services, key personnel, stakeholder involvement, expertise, risk assessment, and any exceptions to the University’s terms and conditions. Respondents must also provide three references and audited financial statements for the previous two years. The resulting agreement is expected to have a one-year initial term with four possible one-year extensions, for a maximum of five years. University data must be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA where applicable, and within the United States.
