Description
The South Dakota Department of Health is soliciting proposals from long-term care providers interested in obtaining additional nursing facility beds. A total of 991 beds are available for reallocation statewide. Proposals will be accepted on an ongoing basis until June 30, 2027, or until all beds are reallocated. Providers must demonstrate their ability to meet the long-term care needs of South Dakota residents, including special care needs such as bariatric services, behavioral health services, care for residents who may be a risk to themselves or others, tracheostomy care, and extended long-term stays. Preference will be given to proposals that address these special needs and show commitment to developing home and community-based services. The RFP outlines requirements for facility certification, operational timelines, occupancy rates, workforce plans, and quality assurance.
