Description
Wilkes County Soil and Water Conservation District is requesting separate lump-sum bids for stream debris removal on three segments: 1,875 linear feet of Grays Creek in Clingman, 1,200 linear feet of Hay Meadow Creek in Hays, and 1,430 linear feet of Lousy Creek in Mulberry. The work involves removing moderate vegetative debris and several complete blockages, with removed debris piled onsite in designated areas. Work must comply with the North Carolina Streamflow Rehabilitation Assistance Program standards. Contractors must process debris so it will not return to the stream or impair future streamflow, using approved methods such as removal from the 100-year floodplain, chipping or mulching, burning, cabling or strapping, or approved streambank stabilization uses. Contractors must attend the required pre-bid meeting and site visits, and submit a separate bid for each stream segment. Commercial general liability, business auto liability, workers’ compensation and employers’ liability, and professional liability insurance are required; proof of insurance and, if applicable, proof of a general contractor’s license will be required if selected.
