Weber State University is requesting statements of qualifications from abatement contractors to perform asbestos and lead-paint removal for interior and exterior remodeling projects on university-owned properties. The university intends to establish an 18-month pre-qualified contractor list for projects with budgets under $50,000; firms on the list may later be asked to provide formal written quotes for individual projects. Responses must address the firm's organization and construction-management approach, completed abatement contracts, Utah abatement licensure, bonding capacity, warranty and warranty-resolution procedures, assigned crew members and qualifications, self-performed trades, and references. The response includes a letter of transmittal, executive summary, and detailed qualification statement. A minimum of three client references and information for three nearby inspectable abatement sites are required. Evaluation emphasizes past performance, qualifications and experience, firm capabilities, and references; firms must achieve an average score of at least 80 points to be placed on the pre-qualified list.
