Description
Public Services and Procurement Canada, on behalf of Crown Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, is issuing a Letter of Interest for the planned remediation construction of the FOX-A and FOX-1 former Distant Early Warning Line sites on Bray Island and Rowley Island, Nunavut. The work concerns contaminated soils, hazardous materials, debris, petroleum storage tanks, demolition, engineered landfill construction, off-site disposal, capping, petroleum-fluid incineration, tank decommissioning, borrow areas, airstrip and road upgrades, temporary camps, and barge landing operations. Operational short-range radar facilities are excluded from the remediation scope; remaining demolition requirements are still being finalized for the future solicitation. The procurement is open to firms registered on the Inuit Firm Registry. The notice identifies environmental rehabilitation and environmental decontamination services as the applicable commodities. The estimated contract period is 25 months, with a proposed start date of March 1, 2027, and the procurement will use competitive open bidding with selection based on the highest combined rating of technical merit and price.
