Description
The University of Connecticut is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from roofing contractors prequalified by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services in the Roofing classification. The project involves replacing the roofs of Hicks and Grange Residence Halls in kind with slate roofing, including roofing underlayment, metal flashings, copper gutters, and masonry work at the exterior facades. Proposers must demonstrate financial ability and bonding capacity for a construction project valued at least $1,650,000, relevant experience, and the qualifications of proposed key personnel, including a project superintendent and project manager. The solicitation uses a two-part process: qualified firms may later be invited to submit cost proposals. Awarded contractors must self-perform at least 10% of the total contract price; project-specific SBE and MBE participation goals will be established during the subsequent Invitation to Bid phase.
