Description
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is seeking applications from nonprofit hospitals in Massachusetts that provide abortion care training to medical residents. Selected hospitals must create and implement an application process for medical residents from states with abortion restrictions and provide reproductive health care training, including procedural abortion care training, to at least one eligible resident. Training may include hands-on patient management, didactic sessions, short-term rotations, intensive programs, conferences, grand rounds, or virtual training, and grant funds may support direct training activities, transportation, and lodging. The department anticipates awarding grants to two or three hospitals, with total potential funding of $1,000,000 and an estimated annualized amount of $250,000. Applicants must submit a response of no more than five pages, excluding CVs, addressing organizational experience, the proposed training program, health-disparity considerations, supervision by Massachusetts-licensed providers, and a budget with justification. Training must be completed by June 30, 2027; the anticipated initial grant duration is six months with three one-year renewal options.
