Description
South Metro Fire Rescue seeks a qualified vendor to provide professional pre-employment background screening for administrative positions. Services include employment and education verification; professional reference interviews and written summaries; county, state, federal, national criminal-record, and sex-offender-registry searches; Social Security number tracing; civil-record and judgment searches; five-panel urine drug screening when applicable; and driver's-license, motor-vehicle-record, and commercial-driver's-license verification for positions requiring District-vehicle operation. The vendor must provide timely, accurate, and legally compliant services, with all requested checks generally completed within 7–10 business days. Reports should clearly distinguish verified information, applicant-provided information, and information that could not be verified, with prompt communication about delays and status updates. Historical volume was 28 background checks in 2025 and 34 submitted year-to-date in 2026; approximately 50% require drug screening, 80% require motor-vehicle-record checks, and all backgrounds require civil-court searches or criminal-history checks. The contract term is one year, with vendors permitted to provide optional annual pricing for up to five years. No budgeted amount is provided.
