Description
Denver Public Schools is soliciting qualified vendors to perform annual fire alarm testing, cleaning, and inspection services at District-managed properties, approximately 250 buildings in the Denver metropolitan area. Work includes testing fire alarm devices in accordance with NFPA 72, Denver amendments, and manufacturer procedures. Annual inspections must occur from November through March during each contract year. Active horn and strobe testing must occur when students are not on site, while individual device testing may occur with horn and strobe devices disabled to minimize classroom disruption. Elevator and HVAC systems must remain functional when students are present. Elevator-related fire alarm devices are excluded. The contractor must provide trained personnel, equipment, tools, test instruments, personal protective equipment, ladders, lifts, confined-space procedures, detector cleaning, inspection tags, paper and electronic deficiency reports, weekly deficiency reporting, and status meetings. A NICET Level II certification does not substitute for Denver's required Compliance Services & Assessments license examination. Site visits are recommended because device data for some campuses is incomplete. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference was a condition of eligibility to submit a proposal.
