Description
The City of Anaheim is seeking qualified consultants to perform as-needed pre-employment background investigations for public safety and non-safety positions. Public safety investigations may include driving-history reviews, criminal-history checks, social-media reviews, civil-litigation checks, license and certification verification, applicant and reference interviews, employment-history verification, military-record verification, credit checks, sex-offender checks, public-records checks, and polygraph examination referrals. Investigations must meet applicable California POST and California Background Investigators Association standards and produce written reports and investigative summaries. Non-safety investigations include applicant identity and employment-information verification, driving-record checks, interviews, criminal-record and public-record checks, military-record verification, credit checks, diploma and certification verification, sex-offender checks, and Department of Transportation checks when applicable. Consultants must hold a current California private investigator license, have at least five years of relevant public-agency experience, comply with applicable consumer-reporting laws, provide status updates within 24 hours when requested, and submit sample reports, qualifications, references, fee schedules, and a bookmarked PDF proposal. Multiple contracts may be awarded on an as-needed, on-call basis; the total proposed contract value may not exceed $750,000.
