Description
The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for numerous line items of wildflower and native grass seed, including grasses, forbs, sedges, milkweeds, asters, coneflowers, and other native species. Bidders must identify available quantities, seed source or origin, certification status, and applicable source or growing region for each item. Multiple bidders may be awarded individual items, and delivery will be FOB destination; delivery details will be provided before the required delivery date. Seed must meet specified purity, germination, live-seed, noxious-weed, packaging, and labeling requirements. Quantities of 5.0 pounds or more require testing at an approved seed laboratory, with testing performed by a Certified Seed Analyst or Registered Seed Technologist; the resulting seed analysis report is due after award and before shipment. No alternate seed or bulk seed that is not pure live seed will be accepted, and certain grass species must be debearded or equivalent for planting.
