Description
Ankeny Community School District is soliciting bids for snow removal and ice melt application services across four geographic bid sections covering school parking lots, driveways, a gravel lot, and other district facilities. Contractors must furnish labor, equipment, backup equipment, materials, supervision, mobile-phone availability, snow logs, and timely response for snow events. Work includes removing and relocating snow to designated stacking areas, applying environmentally friendly ice melt upon request, maintaining fire-hydrant access and traffic sight lines, and completing facilities by required school-day deadlines. The contract period is October 6, 2026, through April 30, 2027, with possible renewals for up to five years from the base-contract start date. Bidders may submit pricing for individual sections or combinations, but partial bidding within a section is not permitted. The response must include the completed bid proposal materials, equipment information, rate schedule, references, and required certifications. A minimum of five references is required, including at least three similar projects completed within the prior four years. The selected contractor must provide specified insurance, including general liability, automobile liability, workers’ compensation, and umbrella/excess coverage, and must name the District as an additional insured.
