Description
Jackson County Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for the agricultural-only lease of three county-owned farmland properties totaling approximately 155.53 acres. Bidders must submit pricing on a per-acre, per-year basis; hunting rights are excluded. The successful lessee must maintain soil nutrient levels, with soil samples tested each spring by the department, and must remove crops by December 31 of each bid year. The county may use the property for transportation business and will compensate the lessee at fair market value for damaged crops. The contract has a three-year base term and may be extended year to year by mutual agreement. Bids will be evaluated based on pricing, references, and firm qualifications. Bidders must provide at least three references from residents who currently lease similar farmland, a brief firm description, the completed pricing sheet, and Attachments A through C. Insurance certificates are required with the bid, while additional insurance documentation and post-award certifications are required before award or commencement of work.
