Description
Madison County is soliciting sealed paper offers to lease one 31.8-acre tract of County-owned farmland within Hoover Ridge Park for cropland use, including row crops and hay. The tract consists of Area 1, approximately 24.3 acres, and Area 2, approximately 7.5 acres. The initial lease term is three years, with up to two additional three-year terms. The lessee must maintain the property, follow conservation and best management practices addressing soil health, erosion control, cover cropping, and nutrient or manure management, and may apply fertilizer and lime to cultivated areas. Biosolids and sewage sludge are prohibited, and subleasing requires County consent. Offers must include proposed rent, the areas to be used, a stewardship/conservation plan, agricultural experience and references, and preliminary evidence of commercial general liability insurance naming Madison County as an additional insured. Evaluation will consider rent, stewardship planning, experience, references, and financial capacity.
