Description
Upson County is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for replacement of the Drake Building roof at 305 S. Hightower Street, Thomaston, Georgia. The work includes removal of existing roofing, repair or replacement of deteriorated wood decking, installation of a Class A fiberglass asphalt architectural shingle system with overlay decking, synthetic underlayment, leak-barrier membrane, ridge and edge ventilation, flashing, gutters, downspouts, and related sealants. The project also includes asbestos-containing mastic remediation as an additive alternate, repair and repainting of existing wood louvers, and associated demolition, carpentry, masonry restoration, sheet-metal, and exterior-painting work. Additional alternates include metal louver replacement and tuck-pointing of face-brick mortar joints. The drawings specify a GAF Timberline HDZ basis of design, a 50-year non-prorated material warranty, and a 25-year workmanship guarantee. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site inspection are required.
