Description
Bibb County School District is soliciting proposals from architectural firms for the renovation of Sonny Carter Elementary School. The scope includes programming, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction documents, bidding support, bid evaluation, construction administration, periodic inspections, final inspection, and project acceptance. Soils testing and special inspections are excluded. The renovation program includes HVAC and controls upgrades, plumbing fixture replacements, electrical and lighting improvements, a new 50 kW generator, fire alarm and switchgear upgrades, secured vestibule investigation or redesign, window film, painting, flooring, casework, doors, ceilings, restroom improvements, grounds and parking work, kitchen equipment replacement, technology infrastructure, and related building improvements. The selected firm must provide a proposed design schedule, relevant experience from similar school projects completed during the past five years, design-team and consultant information, fee percentages for design and construction administration, and a design approach and methodology. Design must be completed by January 29, 2027, to support construction beginning May 21, 2027; construction is scheduled for completion by July 21, 2027.
