Description
Macon-Bibb County is soliciting bids for Phase 2 of the Walnut Street Improvement Project. The work generally extends from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to Willie Smokie Glover Drive and includes roadway realignment, site grading, erosion and sedimentation control, demolition, new curb and gutter, road milling and asphalt surfacing, striping, sidewalks, a bike path, a brick apron, and a landscaped center median. The base bid includes hydroseeding disturbed areas, installing trees and other landscape materials, and related site preparation. Additive alternates include Tiff-Tough Bermuda sod, cleaning and painting the railroad bridge, and installation of Macon Acorn street lighting. A bid bond or cashier's/certified check equal to at least 5% of the total base bid is required. The successful bidder must provide 100% payment and performance bonds and required insurance. The project must be completed within 135 calendar days after the notice to proceed.
