Technical questions and concerns will be expected no later than close of business, October 14, 2026 The Town of Brookhaven is pleased to announce that it now accepts electronic bid submissions through its Website utilizing our new BidNet Direct portal by SOVRA, by the specified due date and time as outlined in the bid document. The website also can be accessed at www.bidnetdirect.com//townofbrookhaven. Sealed bids also will be accepted if delivered to Town Hall in the prescribed format by the specified due date and time as outlined in the bid document. The Town of Brookhaven reserves the right to reject and declare invalid any or all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals received, if in the best interests of the Town. Description
The Town of Brookhaven is soliciting formal bids for restoration of Brookfield Presbyterian Church, also known as South Street Church. The work includes exterior surface preparation and repainting; restoration, replacement, glazing, and painting of historic wood windows; vandal-resistant and basement window replacement; exterior millwork, door, belfry, gutter, leader, masonry, and wood-shingle repairs; bird, bat, and rodent remediation; selective demolition; flashing, sealant, temporary protection, landscaping restoration, and related labor, materials, equipment, permits, testing, and incidentals. The project must preserve the building's historic character and comply with New York requirements, prevailing-wage rules, and applicable safety and environmental regulations. Bidders must have at least five years of relevant construction experience and submit at least five similar projects in the Nassau-Suffolk area with owner references. The bid package requires a 5% bid security, and the successful bidder must provide 100% performance, payment, and maintenance bonds. Addendum #1 prohibits dry-ice blasting and requires the signed addendum to be returned and acknowledged on the proposal form. The contract has a 90-calendar-day completion period beginning after receipt of the fully executed contract and purchase order. A $25,000 force-account allowance is included in the bid schedule.
