Description
The Town of Pomfret is soliciting sealed bids from qualified construction contractors for reconstruction and accessibility improvements to the Air Line Trail. The work includes a stone dust surface segment between Route 44/169 in Pomfret and the Quinebaug River in Putnam, tree removal, drainage improvements, grading, fencing, minor landscaping, access ramps and retaining walls, a staircase connecting to the Quinebaug River Trail, and restoration of disturbed areas. The project is funded through the Connecticut Department of Transportation's Transportation Alternatives Program and involves Federal Aid Project No. PEDS(305). Bidders must be properly licensed, staffed, equipped, and experienced. The contractor and subcontractors must comply with applicable federal, state, municipal, labor, prevailing-wage, nondiscrimination, DBE, insurance, bonding, and documentation requirements. The DBE participation goal is 0 percent. Construction is anticipated to begin during winter 2026/2027, with an estimated duration of 360 calendar days.
