Description
Pima County is soliciting bids for as-needed narcotics destruction and disposal services. The contractor must provide a portable Environmental Protection Agency-compliant drug incinerator, deliver and retrieve the equipment, and provide on-site personnel to set up and operate it. The equipment must have a minimum capacity of 3,500 pounds or 135 square feet of burn area, a minimum burn rate of 150 pounds per hour, and the ability to process at least 800 pounds within a 24-hour operating period. The contractor must submit incinerator make and model information and supporting specifications and performance documentation. The scope includes the safe destruction of bulk drugs, including marijuana, narcotics, prescription medication, packaging, and associated paraphernalia; compliant handling of sharps; removal and disposal of inert residue; site cleanup; and written destruction and disposal documentation. The contractor must maintain required environmental permits and comply with applicable Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, Pima County Department of Environmental Quality, Environmental Protection Agency, Arizona Administrative Code, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements. Services are to be performed within 20 business days of a County request and disposal manifest, during agreed business hours. The contract is for one year with four one-year renewal options.
