Description
Pima County is soliciting bids from an accredited forensic toxicology laboratory to support forensic pathologists in determining the cause and manner of death. Required capabilities include broad-spectrum screening, common drug-abuse screening, quantitative analysis, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry testing, toxicologist consultation, electronic exchange of test requests and results, and routine and expedited reporting. The contractor must pick up specimens from the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner, provide shipping materials and incidental supplies, retain specimens for at least one year, return requested specimens, provide annual forensic toxicology training for up to two forensic pathologists, and submit usage reports and invoices. The contract is for one year with four one-year renewal options. Bidders must document required laboratory accreditation or certification, proficiency-testing participation, and at least three consecutive years of forensic laboratory experience.
