Description
The U.S. Forest Service is soliciting a firm-fixed-price quotation for 75 tons (150,000 pounds) of three-string rectangular grass/alfalfa hay bales, consisting of approximately 80% grass and 20% alfalfa. Acceptable grass varieties include meadow, blue, timothy, orchard, brome, and alfalfa; triticale and wheat hay are not acceptable. The hay must be suitable for Forest Service horses and mules, well cured, free of dust, mold, foreign material, specified weeds and other unsuitable forage, at least six inches long, and not re-baled. Round, ragged, broken, or loose-twine bales are not permitted. The contractor must deliver, unload, and stack the hay at the designated stock facility, provide certified empty and loaded weight slips for each load, and coordinate deliveries with the government representative. Delivery is to begin between October 1 and October 20, 2026, Monday through Friday during the stated delivery hours. Quotes must include pricing for the complete schedule of items, along with information demonstrating the ability to meet the delivery schedule and explaining any requirement that cannot be met. Past performance may also be considered. The acquisition is a total small-business set-aside.
