Description
The California Highway Patrol is soliciting bids for a single contractor to provide evidence impound towing, recovery, and secure storage services for the Fresno Area Office on an as-needed, 24-hour, seven-days-per-week basis. The scope includes furnishing all labor, equipment, supervision, and related supplies; responding to calls; recovering vehicles; cleaning incident scenes; transporting impounded vehicles; securely storing vehicles and their contents; maintaining monthly inventory reports; and supporting authorized inspections and releases. Bidders must meet specified towing, storage, licensing, driver, equipment, experience, security, and operational requirements. The contractor must perform at least 75% of the work, maintain appropriate towing permits and trained personnel, operate a compliant secure storage facility within the designated geographical region, and provide towing and storage rates. The agreement is budgeted at $700,000, with payment based on actual services rendered; the anticipated term is November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2029, subject to approval and possible extension. The DVBE participation requirement is waived, but eligible DVBE participation may receive an incentive.
