Description
This Stage II Invitation to Bid is limited to contractors prequalified through the State of Utah's Stage I mechanical-contractor process. The project involves replacing one existing air-handling unit and one packaged outdoor heat pump, replacing the existing gas-fired duct furnace, and modifying the mechanical room, louvers, exterior housekeeping pad, electrical accommodations, natural-gas piping, refrigerant piping, ductwork, controls, and related components as needed for the upgraded system. The design specifies a 20-ton indoor split-system unit, a 20-ton outdoor heat pump, a new duct-mounted furnace, updated controls integrated with the existing building management system, and testing and balancing of affected HVAC systems. The estimated construction budget is $95,000, and substantial completion is required by April 30, 2027. A 5% bid bond is required with the bid, and the successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds in amounts not less than the contract price. The bid must be submitted through the U3P portal, and the subcontractor list must be emailed separately within the stated post-opening deadline. The solicitation also requires compliance with DFCM construction conditions, applicable Utah codes, seismic-restraint requirements, equipment submittals, testing and balancing, and closeout documentation.
