Description
The California Department of Transportation is soliciting bids for weekly cleaning of Caltrans-owned vests, coveralls, shirts, and pants, along with weekly rental and cleaning of safety mats. Services include pickup, tagging for location identification, cleaning, delivery, item tracking, receipts, and replacement of lost or damaged clothing when applicable. Reflective garments must be cleaned under specified temperature and handling restrictions. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, pickup, delivery, tagging, and related incidentals. Mats are to be folded and bagged for delivery, and Caltrans employees may remove laundry from the bags. Delivery schedules are not negotiable; Caltrans will provide instructions for closures affecting certain maintenance stations. The solicitation includes historical mat counts for twelve maintenance stations and does not guarantee minimum quantities. Subcontracting is not permitted. Bids will be evaluated based on responsiveness and responsibility, with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder selected. The agreement is estimated to run from December 1, 2026, through November 30, 2029.
