Description
The University of Colorado Boulder is conducting a two-step design/bid/build procurement for a general contractor to replace glazed aluminum curtain walls and punched windows with structural integrity and detachment issues at the nine-story Engineering Office Tower. Phase 1 includes demolition, repair and restoration of window openings, replacement of concrete shrouds where necessary, concrete repairs, treatment of concrete surfaces, coordination around underground utility tunnels, staging and access management, and installation of long-lead curtain wall and window systems. The general contractor must carry the abatement responsibility, including asbestos-related work, and comply with applicable environmental, prevailing-wage, Colorado-labor, apprenticeship, LCP Tracker, and Buy Clean Colorado requirements. Step I requires prequalification information demonstrating Colorado office history, at least three similar completed projects, key personnel qualifications, schedule and project-management capabilities, bonding capacity, insurance capability, local subcontractor involvement, and apprenticeship-program access. Shortlisted firms will be invited to submit conventional cost bids in Step II.
