Description
The Correctional Service of Canada requires replacement of existing glazing in 168 cell windows across Pods 1 and 2 at Kent Institution, comprising 504 glazing panels. The contractor must supply and install enhanced laminated security glazing, polycarbonate external security screens, stainless-steel channels and fasteners, and security caulking in accordance with the construction drawings, specifications, manufacturer instructions, and institutional requirements. An additional 12 existing windows in L-Range, Pod 1 require security caulking only. The work includes selective demolition, disposal of existing glazing, field measurement, shop drawings, engineering calculations and analyses, samples, certified glazing materials, mock-ups, inspections, protection of occupants and ongoing institutional operations, and restoration of affected construction. The work must be completed within 44 weeks after notification of acceptance. The solicitation states that there is no security clearance requirement, although contractor personnel will be escorted and subject to institutional access procedures.
