Description
The Correctional Service of Canada requires replacement of existing glazing in 168 cell windows across Pods 1 and 2 at Kent Institution, comprising 504 glazing panels. The contractor must supply and install enhanced laminated security glazing, one polycarbonate security screen per window, security screws, fasteners, accessories, and security caulking. An additional 12 existing windows in L-Range, Pod 1 require security caulking only. The work is intended to prevent inmates from manipulating window assemblies and receiving contraband delivered by drone. The work must comply with construction drawings, specifications, manufacturer instructions, and institutional security requirements, and must be completed within 44 weeks after notification of acceptance. The procurement is an open competitive solicitation evaluated on the lowest-priced compliant bid, with no Indigenous-business set-aside and no security requirement.
