Description
The City of Boulder, through its Utilities Department, is seeking a contractor to complete Phase 2 of the Tram Hills Fuels Reduction Project. The approximately 16-acre project includes four treatment tasks: log removal near a drinking-water pipeline; defensible-space and fuel-break thinning near a hydroelectric facility; fuels reduction on two adjacent private properties; and fuel-break thinning and conifer removal near an aspen stand. Work includes tree cutting, removal of logs and slash, bucking, loading, off-site hauling or disposal, ladder-fuel removal, crown-spacing, diseased-tree removal, and forest-health improvements. The contractor must provide crews, equipment, transportation, safety and fire-prevention measures, access-road and site protection, required bridge/load evaluations, and compliance with Colorado forestry best-management practices. The proposal must include an approach and timeline, references for up to five comparable projects completed or ongoing within the past seven years, key personnel and crew information, and a detailed cost proposal for each task. The selected contractor is expected to begin as early as November 2026, complete individual sections within approximately four to six weeks once started, and achieve substantial completion by November 15, 2027.
