Description
The City of Rocky Mount's Energy Resources Department is soliciting a contractor for general construction services supporting its natural gas distribution system. The scope includes installation, replacement, repair, abandonment, maintenance, testing, and connection of natural gas mains and customer service lines, including polyethylene and steel piping, valves, fittings, tie-ins, hot taps, and related facilities. Work may involve direct burial, directional drilling, plowing, boring, live gas mains and services, traffic control, erosion and sediment control, site restoration, pressure and leak testing, purging, and emergency or force-account services. The City will provide specified pipe, fittings, valves, aggregate, and other materials, while the contractor provides labor, equipment, tools, and other required materials. The estimated contract amount is $700,000 for bid-security purposes, but no minimum or maximum contract value is guaranteed. The contract term is one year.
