Description
The City of Raleigh, through Raleigh Water, is requesting qualifications from firms to provide professional engineering services for the Galvanized Main Replacement Phase 2 project. The work includes final design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration for replacing approximately 15,320 linear feet of small-diameter galvanized water mains throughout the Raleigh Water service area, along with replacement or repair of adjacent deteriorating gravity sewer mains. Addendum No. 1 clarifies that Quality Level B subsurface utility engineering is required throughout the corridor; the consultant is responsible for survey control and collection of Quality Level B and Quality Level A data, including storm and sanitary structure and invert information. The consultant must determine the number of base-scope Quality Level A test holes, with additional test holes available at a unit price, and must address utility conflicts and include a plan note requiring contractor verification of utility laterals. Existing GIS, as-built, service, and utility records will be provided by Raleigh Water. Additional out-of-scope subsurface utility engineering will be authorized through a contract amendment. Selection will be conducted under the Mini-Brooks Act, with price not serving as a determining factor.
