The U.S. Department of Defense, through its Department of War laboratories, is issuing a Sources Sought notice to identify potential partners for Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs) aimed at maturing and transitioning technologies related to hypersonic infrared target sensing. The HITS-TO initiative seeks to place an infrared seeker on a hypersonic weapon by overcoming challenges such as atmospheric turbulence, thermal shock, boresight error, and target discrimination. Partners are sought in industry, national labs, UARCs, and FFRDCs with capabilities in one or more of five technical areas: innovative imaging and tracking systems, optical materials, test and evaluation, modeling and simulation, and overall integration. No funding is provided; partners must finance their own contributions. Submissions must include a Technical Capability Summary Statement (TCSS) addressing relevant expertise, engineering development ability, and financing capability, along with past performance summaries. Preference will be given to entities willing to self-fund. Respondents must be able to handle CUI or classified work.
