Description
The City of Social Circle is soliciting proposals for two construction contracts. Contract 1 includes approximately 3,600 linear feet of ductile iron pipe and PVC sewer, manholes, jack-and-bore work, rock excavation, clearing, soil erosion and sediment control, and related appurtenances, with 270 consecutive calendar days allotted for construction. Contract 2 covers construction of the Little River Water Pollution Control Plant, including a screen and grit structure, two aeration basins, two final clarifiers, tertiary filters, ultraviolet disinfection, sludge and plant pump stations, chemical feed facilities, a control building, a digester, and a sludge dewatering building. The proposal must include a bid bond of at least 5% of the complete lump-sum bid; the successful contractor must provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract amount. Bidders must hold a State of Georgia Utility Contractor License and employ a state-certified Utility Manager. The documents state 480 consecutive calendar days for construction and 540 days for final completion for the plant work.
