Description
The Utah Department of Health and Human Services intends to amend existing Contract #226354 with Enfanos to add funding for GAA-IDUA assay substrates, GAA-IDUA internal-standard reagents, and 2-plex assay buffer used by the Utah Public Health Laboratory for MPS-I and Pompe disease newborn screenings. The scope historically includes approximately 600 vials each of substrate, internal standard, and buffer; one vial of each supports approximately 100 screening assays. Shipments are expected approximately quarterly or as requested, with invoices due within 30 days of shipment. The proposed contract total will increase from $350,000 to $466,000, an increase of $116,000, because testing for Pompe disease in newborns has increased. Required documentation includes purity and absolute amounts or concentrations determined by quantitative NMR. The notice is an intent to award without a standard competitive procurement process and allows interested vendors to contest by documenting a comparable or equivalent product and competing source.
