Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to WERFEN USA, LLC for proprietary blood-bank reagents compatible with the ECHO LUMENA analyzer. The reagents are required to support daily operations of the Hampton VA Medical Center's Pathology and Laboratory Blood Banks, and the documentation states that no other products can be used with the analyzer. The procurement is brand-name only and is not a request for competitive quotes. The proposed contract includes a base year plus four option years. Businesses that believe they can meet the requirement must submit written notice with sufficient evidence of relevant past experience and expertise; telephone requests will not be accepted.
