Description

The Department of the Navy requires professional, specialized biohazard remediation, specialty cleaning, and mechanical HVAC air-system cleaning services at Building R-50 and Building U-117 at Naval Station Norfolk. Work includes containment and negative-pressure controls; removal and disposal of rodent feces, urine, nesting materials, contaminated ceiling tiles, paint debris, and other biological contaminants; HEPA vacuuming; sanitization; ceiling-tile assessment and replacement; photographic and written reporting of structural penetrations; and off-site waste packaging, manifesting, transportation, and disposal. At Building U-117, the contractor must clean and sanitize the complete air-distribution system and mechanical equipment in accordance with National Air Duct Cleaners Association standards. The scope includes air-handling units, coils, ductwork, registers, diffusers, variable-air-volume boxes, heat pumps, return-air fans, and bathroom exhaust systems. The contractor must furnish management, supervision, certified personnel, PPE, containment systems, specialized equipment, chemicals, waste disposal, and transportation. Services are a one-time project performed outside normal government working hours, primarily on weekends, and must comply with applicable DoD, Navy, OSHA, CDC, EPA, and environmental requirements.
