The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District plans to issue a full-and-open Invitation for Bid for firm-fixed-price maintenance dredging in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Base work includes mechanically dredging approximately 550,000 cubic yards from the Sewells Point to Lamberts Bend and Entrance Reach federal navigation channel segments to a required depth of -56 feet MLLW, with one foot of allowable paid overdepth. Material will be placed overboard at the Norfolk Ocean Disposal Site. Optional work includes approximately 150,000 cubic yards of dredging in the Channel to Newport News segment and approximately 45,000 cubic yards in the Naval Station Fairway segment, with material pumped into the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area. The work includes precautions for dredging over the Navy Degaussing Array and near protected cultural resources. Construction completion is anticipated approximately 175 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Bid bonds will be required with bids, and the successful awardee must provide 100% payment and performance bonds. The notice is a presolicitation and is not currently accepting proposals or questions.
