Description
The City of Newport News is soliciting proposals for qualified firms to provide supervisory and support personnel for special events coordinated by the Department of Parks and Recreation. Services include event setup, production support, stagehand and performer support, breakdown and cleanup, parking assistance, equipment care, guest interaction, and unarmed security support. The contractor must support events at multiple venues and routes, including outdoor events, multi-day events, weekends, holidays, and shifts of up to 13 hours. The scope specifically requires at least two to three personnel certified to set up, break down, transport, and maintain the STAGELINE SL 100 mobile stage system, as well as 10 to 15 personnel certified in Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) for alcohol-boundary management. Staff may also operate golf carts, assist with tents, tables, barricades, signage, decorations, activities, waste receptacles, and other event equipment. The estimated prior usage was 250 supervisory hours and 3,050 support-staff hours. Proposals must include a technical proposal, price proposal, W-9, applicable personnel certifications, three equivalent-service references, and required vendor questionnaire responses.
