Description
The Utah Division of Purchasing, for the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Integrated Healthcare, has published a notice of intent to extend an existing contract without a standard competitive procurement process. The proposed three-month extension would continue integrated pharmacy point-of-sale claims processing, prior authorization, and drug rebate management systems supporting Medicaid members while a replacement point-of-sale system is implemented. Interested vendors may contest the proposed action by identifying the contesting person, providing a detailed explanation and supporting documentation showing competing sources, and demonstrating that they can provide a comparable or better item, the same proprietary or an equivalent item, and—if transitional costs are the stated basis—a cost comparison. The proposed extension amount is $550,685.50, increasing the contract total to $14,979,314.19, with Change Healthcare identified as the incumbent vendor.
