Description
Sacramento County is soliciting proposals for a pet insurance program provided at no cost to the County. The selected provider must offer illness and accident coverage for dogs and cats, including emergency care, hospitalization, surgery, prescription medications, and wellness and preventive-care benefits such as annual exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, routine bloodwork, and dental cleanings when applicable. The provider must implement an automated enrollment process for adopters at the point of adoption, supply accessible coverage documentation and educational or marketing materials, provide dedicated customer support, and submit quarterly reports covering policies, premiums, cancellations, refunds, renewals, and the Public Benefit Contribution. Proposals must include a base no-cost coverage period with optional continuation at the adopter's expense, and must propose a fixed or methodology-based contribution to support County animal services and related public purposes. The narrative proposal is limited to five pages, excluding required forms, pricing documents, certifications, resumes, references, and other required attachments.
