Description
Georgia State University is soliciting a contractor for HVAC renovations at the Clarkston Building CH. The revised project manual describes replacing three third-floor air handling units (AHU-4, AHU-5, and AHU-6) and return air fan R-3; replacing associated ductwork, mechanical piping, chilled-water valves, and accessories; demolishing one electric steam boiler and associated basement mechanical-room piping and controls; providing Siemens control-system components and software integration using the Desigo BAS platform; extending communications for remote Facilities access; and rebalancing specified supply-air diffusers. The work also includes duct cleaning, testing and balancing, electrical work, insulation, and related controls, protection, and commissioning activities. The contractor must perform the work while the building remains occupied, confine operations to designated areas, and coordinate outages and safety measures with the university. The project manual requires a lump-sum bid, a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site tour, a bid bond of at least 5 percent, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the Contract Sum before contract execution. The revised bid document states that material completion is due within 270 calendar days after the Proceed Order, while the event description also references completion within 95 calendar days; bidders should resolve this apparent schedule conflict before bidding.
