Description
DeKalb County Government is soliciting sealed bids for construction along approximately two miles of Glenwood Road from Columbia Drive to Covington Highway, with an exception from Austin Drive to Glen Acres Court. The work includes five- to six-foot concrete sidewalks, driveway and roadway improvements, curb and gutter, pedestrian ramps and detectable warnings, drainage structures and storm piping, retaining walls, guardrail, traffic control, pavement markings, erosion control, landscaping, utility coordination, MARTA stop improvements, and installation of a pedestrian hybrid beacon. The bidder or its subcontractor must hold Georgia Department of Transportation prequalification in Work Class 647, Traffic Signal Installation. The contract requires completion within 24 months after the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must attend one mandatory DeKalb Local Small Business Enterprise meeting, meet the 20% LSBE participation benchmark or document good-faith efforts, provide three similar-project references from the last four years, and submit a bid guarantee of at least 10% of the bid amount. Successful bidders must provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, and required insurance. The solicitation also requires compliance with the First Source Jobs Ordinance and submission of numerous vendor questionnaire, affidavit, licensing, LSBE, reference, and public-works forms.
