Description
The City of Clearlake is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to operate the City-owned Senior/Community Center and provide comprehensive services for older adults. The selected contractor will operate the facility, prepare and deliver Meals on Wheels, provide daily congregate nutrition, and offer social, educational, physical, recreational, wellness, information, and assistance programs. Responsibilities also include facility cleaning, janitorial services, minor repairs, kitchen and office operations, garden maintenance, public-rental coordination, compliance with applicable laws and health requirements, and management of required licenses and permits. The resulting agreement is structured as a 10-year lease, with year-to-year tenancy possible after expiration unless terminated under the agreement. The contractor must maintain specified insurance, including commercial general liability of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence, workers’ compensation as required by California law, employer’s liability of at least $1,000,000, and property insurance for tenant improvements. The contractor must also provide certificates of insurance and required endorsements before work begins. The pre-proposal meeting is mandatory, and the proposal deadline is October 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
