Description
Wayne County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking an immediate, sustainable residential and provider solution for a 54-year-old man with moderate intellectual disability and schizophrenia. Potential arrangements include an individual home or apartment with drop-in HPC support, Shared Living, or an appropriate congregate setting with male housemates. The preferred environment is quiet and rural, with careful consideration of housemate compatibility, affordability, safety, and preservation of independence. The provider must offer consistent, relationship-based support; predictable routines; side-by-side assistance with cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, appointments, medication routines, and other daily living responsibilities; support with financial safety, healthy relationships, social boundaries, and accountability; and meaningful community involvement. The team is also interested in day, vocational, employment, or other structured daytime activities that promote socialization and skill building.
