Description
The Town of Estes Park is seeking turnkey professional services for eight permanent outdoor interpretive wildlife exhibits at the Estes Park Visitor Center. The selected consultant will provide community-informed conceptual programming, schematic design at 30% and 90% stages, final construction and permit documents, permitting, fabrication or manufacturing coordination, delivery, and installation. The exhibits should primarily address elk safety and also cover local wildlife, safe viewing practices, responses to wildlife encounters, food storage and attractant management, coexistence, rut and calving seasons, and pet safety. The exhibits must be accurate, family-friendly, inclusive, accessible under applicable ADA and ANSI standards, durable in mountain weather, resistant to vandalism and tampering, visually integrated with the Visitor Center and mountain setting, and low-maintenance. They should include interactive or experiential elements, visual size comparisons, clear language with options for Spanish speakers, and no digital or electronic components. Proposals must include the requested approach, qualifications, schedule, references, cost proposal, hourly rate schedule, and completed Exhibits 1, 2, and 3. The approved project budget is $173,000, and the target is to complete installation before September 2027.
